H.G. McChesney
Geologist Consultant
A certified petroleum geologist and member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Mr. McChesney earned a bachelor of science in geology and minor in mathematics from Texas Tech University in 1956. Working as a tool pusher while completing his education, he went on to serve as an exploration geologist for Phillips (1956-1960), H.L.M. Drilling (1960-1969), and W.C. McBride (1969-1970.)
Mr. McChesney became an independent consultant geologist in 1970, organizing his own firm, G.M.G. Oil and Gas Corporation in 1978. Semi-retired since 1990, he offers his more than 50 years of experience to select independent projects. A veteran of many experiences, Mr. McChesney also served aboard the U.S.S. St. Paul CA73 and QM3 as helmsman during battle stations and special sea duties with tours in China and Japan from 1945 to 1948.
